Use of Book
This book is a very cute and funny read. It has many themes within it and they are very helpful in getting a meaningful point across to students. Since this is a first grade level book I would use it to work with them on listening skills and dramatic role playing. I would only read them the first half of the book, and before reading them the rest, I would make them get into groups and make up a skit of what they think the ending will be. This gets them predicting different endings and using their imaginations.

  1. This sounds like a really cute story. I like your idea about having the kids predict the ending in a skit. It gives students the opportunity to work on collaborating, communication, predicting, and story telling.

  2. I just love this book and the twist at the end of this less-than-usual princess story. The skit idea would be so much fun!
